Responsibilities:

• Academic:
  • Delivering high-quality lectures and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Developing and evaluating course materials.
  • Assessing student learning through exams, assignments, and projects.
  • Guiding and mentoring students.
• Research:
  • Conducting independent and collaborative research in your area of expertise.
  • Securing research funding and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Supervising postgraduate research students.
• Extension:
  • Contributing to outreach activities for the benefit of the fishing community and stakeholders.
• Additional duties:
  • Participating in departmental and university committees.
  • Maintaining professional development through continuing education activities.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Fisheries Science or a related field with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the university level (preferred).
• Demonstrated research experience and publications in reputed journals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Experience in grant writing and securing research funding.
• Experience in curriculum development and educational technology.
• Proficiency in Tamil language (an asset).
